Car wash or drawers. Two different birthdays.
They are not two versions of the same garage. They are built for two different moments in a child’s collecting life — and choosing the wrong one is a specific, predictable mistake.
The mistake we see most
The child who needs a car wash gets drawers. The child who needs drawers gets a car wash.
It happens in both directions. Parents see the Kronus with drawers and think: more storage, therefore better. Or they see the Neptune with car wash and think: more features, therefore better. Neither logic holds. The two garages are not on the same scale. They serve different children at different stages.
The car wash is a play piece. The drawers are a curation piece. The distinction is not about age, or price, or how impressive the garage looks when it arrives. It is about what the child does with cars when no one is watching.
The honest split
Two garages. Two completely different children.
Not better or worse. Earlier or later. Read the signals, not the spec sheet.
Stage 03 · Ages 6–9
The 94-slot with car wash.
The collection is large and active. Cars move in and out constantly — raced, swapped, narrated, queued through the car wash in long sequences. This child is still deep inside the play phase. The garage is infrastructure for daily activity, not a display case. The car wash earns its place through use, not through looking impressive.
- Cars are played with every day, not just arranged
- The collection is 50–90 cars and still growing
- The child has mentioned a car wash, a petrol station, or a race track
- Ages 6 to 9 — or younger with a high-intensity play habit
- This is the first large garage, or an upgrade from the 91-slot
Stage 04 · Ages 9+
The Kronus with drawers.
The collection has become a real collection. There are cars kept separate from others — rare ones, favourites, cars with a specific history. The child organises by colour, or by brand, or by something only they understand. The play is quieter now, more considered. The drawers are not overflow storage. They are the whole point: display on top, the rest curated below.
- Cars are arranged, not just played with — organisation matters
- The collection is 90+ cars with real curation going on
- The child uses the word “rare” or keeps certain cars separate
- Ages 9 and up — or the “has everything” gift situation
- The current garage is full and overflow is happening
Side by side
What each garage actually does.
The specs matter less than the signals. But here they are, in full, for the parents who want the numbers before they decide.

The questions we get
What parents ask when they cannot decide.
The specific cases that come in most often — and the honest answers.
- My child is 8 and has 80 cars. Car wash or drawers?
- Car wash. Eighty cars at 8 is a Stage 03 collection — active, growing, intensely played with. The drawers are not the right fit yet. The Kronus is built for a child whose relationship with the collection has shifted from playing to keeping, and at 8 with 80 cars that shift has usually not happened yet. Give it another year or two, until the collection tops 90 and the play becomes quieter. Then the drawers.
- My child is 10 and has 60 cars. Car wash or drawers?
- This depends more on play style than collection size. At 10 with 60 cars, the collection is not enormous — but if the child organises it carefully, keeps certain cars separate, and has slowed down the active playing in favour of arranging, the Kronus is worth considering even at that count. The drawers are about curation, not just overflow. If the child is still racing cars daily at 10, stay with the Neptune. If the play has become quieter and more deliberate, the Kronus fits.
- I want to give the most impressive gift. Which looks better?
- The Kronus with drawers looks more like furniture — it has weight and presence in the room. The Neptune with car wash looks more like a playground. Both are impressive, but in different directions. The more relevant question is which one the child will actually use. The impressive gift that does not match the child’s stage sits in the room as decor rather than as a toy. The right gift gets touched every day.
- Can the Kronus replace the car wash garage, or do they do different jobs?
- Different jobs entirely. The Kronus does not have a car wash and is not designed for the kind of daily active play the Neptune enables. If the child is at Stage 03 — playing daily, collection growing — the Kronus is the wrong piece regardless of how much you like how it looks. It is not a superior version of the Neptune. It is a different product for a different stage.
- What if I buy the car wash garage and the child outgrows it?
- Then you buy the Kronus. This is the normal sequence for a child who stays in the hobby. The Neptune at Stage 03, the Kronus at Stage 04. The Neptune does not become useless — it passes to a younger sibling, a cousin, or stays as secondary storage while the Kronus becomes the centrepiece. These two garages are designed to coexist in the same collecting life, not to replace each other.
- Is the Kronus too old-looking for a child who still plays actively?
- Yes, sometimes. The Kronus is a display piece first. Its premium bays and drawer system are built for a child who thinks about where each car lives permanently. A child who grabs cars at random, races them, and packs them back in bulk will not get the most out of the drawer system — the drawers will become a jumble within days. The Neptune handles active play much better. The Kronus rewards patience and intention.
Watch what the child does with a car after they finish playing with it. If it goes back roughly anywhere, they need a car wash garage. If it goes back to a specific spot, they are ready for drawers.
A note from the workshop
The one question that settles it every time.
When parents contact us genuinely unsure between the Neptune and the Kronus, we ask one question: does the child have cars they keep separate from the others? A shelf apart, a specific box, a row they do not let anyone touch. Not because they are rare — though sometimes they are — but because those cars mean something specific.
If the answer is yes, the Kronus is the right call. The drawer system is built for exactly that child — the one who is beginning to treat the collection as something worth organising, not just playing with. The display slots on top become a permanent home for the cars that matter most. The drawers below hold everything else without it becoming a pile.
If the answer is no — if every car is equally in play, if the collection is a fleet rather than a collection — the Neptune is the right piece. The car wash will get used constantly, the dual LED system will run every night, and the garage will earn its place in the room through daily activity rather than through permanence. Both are the right answer. They are just answers to different questions about the same child.
The two garages
By stage. Not by price.
One for the active collector. One for the curator. Both personalized, both handmade in Warsaw.

Stage 03 · Ages 6–9
94-Slot Garage with Car Wash
For the active collector. Dual LEDs, working car wash, daily use built in.

Stage 04 · Ages 9+
Kronus Garage with Drawers
For the curator. Display on top, three 11L drawers below. The collection finally has a home.

Stage 04 · Olive Finish
Kronus Olive with Drawers
The natural finish. Sits quietly in any room. Same drawer system, earthy tone.
Not sure which stage your child is at?
Watch what they do with a car after they finish playing. That one habit tells you more than the age or the collection count. Handmade in Warsaw, shipped across the EU.
